The Homeschooling "Let's Chat" Virtual Co-op
The Homeschool "Let's Chat" Virtual Co-op is a small group of about 6 parents who come together to share information on evidenced-based academic strategies, curriculum design, resources, assessments, progress monitoring, portfolio requirements, and more. Parents will discuss their successes and challenges that they are experiencing, and will receive recommendations and resources from a veteran teacher and other professionals. This co-op is someplace where homeschool parents can find the support needed in order to have the best academic and socio-emotional outcomes for their child.
Cost: $20.00 monthly
Homeschool Portfolio Workshop/Virgin Islands
Parents who homeschool on St.Thomas, St. Croix, St. John, and Water Island are invited to Home Educate VI Virtual Portfolio Workshop. The workshop will give participants information on how to develop a portfolio according to the guidelines of the Virgin Islands Department of Education and the Virgin Islands Board of Education.
Parents will learn
**how to collect, store, and organize your
child's work samples
**how to choose the type of lessons,
assignments, and activities needed to ensure
that their child has varied experiences as they
meet grade level standards
**VI DOE portfolio requirements and portfolio
guide
**what type of assignments to include from each
of the required major subject area
**the role of assessments and the type of
assessments that should be included in your
portfolio
